This has been my quote for the week. I have been given the wonderful opportunity to coach a soccer team this fall!
Not just any team my not-so-little sister's soccer team. I am so excited! They are a division II, club soccer team ranging in ages from 15-19.
This past week I pushed them through what I call "Hardcore Camp".
It was four days of conditioning for two hours each night.
I planned some intense workouts...and I did every single one of them alongside them. They did awesome. They worked so hard and I couldn't be more proud. I know they might've complained and their bodies are sore but they pushed through it.
I am so thankful for this opportunity. I really feel like it will be a great way to spend time with my sister but more importantly pour into the lives of 18 girls for the next four months. I hope I can be an example to them and push them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. I believe breaking physical limitations you put on yourself and preparing to be physically strong helps with other aspects in life. It teaches hard work and how to be tough mentally. Pushing yourself physically shows you that you can accomplish things. It is visible and you can see it. Playing team sports (as cheesy as this sounds) has taught me a lot about "life".
I also LOVE being a coach. I also coached my old High School's soccer camp this summer. It is so fun...and I am actually good at it..? I can see myself being a coach for many years, maybe even finding a job in this field. I never would've thought this would be something I like.
Guess I'm pushing myself past what I thought my limits were.
