A new adventure begins...

Not only a new year, but a life changing year for the Johnson Family.

Looking back, I see the Lord's hand in every moment of my life that has led me to this point of my life.

He's guided me, loved me, and has drawn my heart to His.
It is overwhelming when you let your heart desire the things of your Father.
I've asked His desires to become my desires.
Over my life I've learned of His desire to be glorified by ALL nations. EVERY tongue, EVERY tribe.

Every. Single. One.
It is then He receives His glory in full.

My desire is for my Lord to be glorified to the fullest, and that happens when every nation is in the throne room of God.

Ever since I was a child my mom taught my mission classes, my girls in action classes, and led mission trips. Proverbs 22:6- Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.  Your fault, mom. :)
She also taught me that the point of a missionary is not your geography, but making Him famous in places where He is not known. I love my international friends here But, I've always prayed He would take me to the ends of the earth. I remember 10 year-old-me praying "God, I trust that you are with me, but could you please give me a husband young. Maybe out of high school so I don't have to go overseas alone?" I was so ready to GO. Turning twenty seemed like it would never happen...

6 years later, along came Kendall. Our relationship is purely from God, it was not from my own doing. I thought this guy was way weird. Tattoos? Long hair? No way, no how was this man ever going to be my husband. I laugh because that's exactly who God picked for me. After getting to know him and his adamant desire to become a missionary overseas, I knew that he was the one for me. It was a matter of waiting and while we waited....we would serve him.

5 years later (a total of 11 years from the time I was 10) the door has opened for us to go to the ends.

In December of 2012 we signed a contract with an organization called Amazon Xpeditions for two years, with an open end. Our vision is to join them to disciple and plant native churches among the unreached tribes of the Amazon Jungle. Our departure date is June 2013 and we will set out to live under the jungle canopy of Brazil.

The story of how we got here is unbelievable and so perfectly written. It is one of those moments where you step back and reflect on the faithfulness of our God. So many things have happened outside of my comprehension as to how this has happened, but I am so grateful He has chosen the two us to participate in His ancient work in this area of the world.

I hope over these next few months that I can share our story in depth. How we got here, things that have happened and "the plan".
There are so many unknowns right now, but trusting in the Lord brings so much joy.
