Boston: Runners Unite to Remember

Not even two weeks ago, I wrote about how running has changed my life.
After the events in Boston, it has inspired and changed me even more.

A girl in my running group, Amber*, came up with the amazing idea to host a community run in remembrance of those affected in Boston. We did a 3 mile (one for every causality) silent run to reflect and show our support. It was a great turn out and so humbling to see that a love for running makes family all across the world.

It was a time to reflect on the events that had happened and pray for those affected.
My heart was heavy. It just hit too close to home and leaves me speechless that someone could do something so awful.

Most of all though, I'm inspired.
I'm inspired by the acts of kindness and courage shown at the Boston Marathon in the wake of such a terrible event.

"Today I run with anger...
Today I run with sadness...
Today I run with a heavy heart...
 Today I run with compassion...
Today I run with hope...

But the one thing I don't run with and
will NEVER run with is fear."

*Amber qualified for the 2014 Boston Marathon. I am so proud of her!
