I have recently come to realize how much I love mornings. I love everything about it. The foods that are made to be enjoyed in the mornings, fresh brewed coffee, relaxing on my red couch basking in the morning sun light. It is all so sweet and pure to me. I'm so joyful in the mornings...well, most mornings.
I think I enjoy it so much because the relaxing part of mornings has been lacking in my life the past year. It is one of those things that I never knew I took for granted until I didn't have them anymore.
For those of you who don't know, I work as a Barista at Starbucks. I usually work the morning shift, which consists of me getting up by 3:45am (okay, lets be real that's the time my alarm is set to but I really get up at 4) to be at work by 4:25am. I have one month of work left. I just can't believe this chapter is ending so soon.
Though I am steering off the topic I intended to write about, I have to say that I have really enjoyed my time there and really feel the need to share about my experience as it has been a huge part of my life.
I have especially enjoyed getting to know my coworkers and our regulars, though I can hardly call them coworkers or "just customers" anymore. They are my friends and I have enjoyed getting to know their hearts, their stories, and sharing endless laughs together.
Even though I am looking forward to quiet mornings where I get to sip my coffee (while it is still hot), a part of me will miss the frantic mornings of working bar, spilling milk, being covered in mocha and smelling like coffee.
I'll especially miss the friends that have so sweetly made their mark in my life.
Also, I have to share this:
The most beautiful thing that has come about through this work experience was seeing my Asst. Manager be baptized last Sunday. She has become so close to my heart and it has been such a blessing seeing her grow over this past year.
To my SBUX Family:
Thanks for all your support and love as we enter into this journey. Thank you for all the memories, laughter, tears, dances, smiles, green apron cards ;), fun, frustrations and love you have shared with me. Each and every one of you (current and past baristas) are so very special to me.
Its not over yet, so lets make some more.
Can't wait to come home and visit the best Starbucks around. Best Coffee. Best Baristas.
***p.s. we need a group picture before I leave. It would go here. ;)***
